The Dallas Mavericks are a professional basketball team based in Dallas, Texas, USA. They are members of the Southwest Division of the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Founded in 1980, the Mavericks have won three division titles (1987, 2007, 2010) two conference championship (2006, 2011) and one NBA Championship in 2011. The Mavericks current home is The American Airlines Center. The Dallas Mavericks currently have 620 consecutive home sell-outs including Playoffs, which is the longest active streak in the NBA and across all professional sports in North America. Since Mark Cuban purchased the Mavericks on January 4th, 2000, Mavs home games have become more than just an ordinary NBA event – they have become a total entertainment experience complete with a party atmosphere. Most of the current success can be attributed to their superstar Dirk Nowitzki. Only six players in the history of the NBA have scored more points than Dirk Nowitzki’s 28,119. The German has, by now, accomplished just about all you can in the league, but after 17 seasons he’s still pushing as hard as ever. Dirk is as unique a player as there’s ever been in this league, and after all this time, he’s still hungry for another title.
