“Our offices will be closed Thursday, January 23rd for company training. We’re learning new ways to serve you better.”

If you signed into the ReptraxTM vendor credentialing system the week of January 20th, 2014, you saw these words, but what do they mean to you? As a company, IntelliCentrics is always striving to provide you with the best service, products and new technology, and we found new ways to do just that during our 2014 Global Meeting.
On Monday January 20th – Thursday, January 23rd, the Dallas IntelliCentrics office hosted 103 of our colleagues representing three companies: VTC, our parent company, an R&D-focused security corporation; our sister company, deView electronics, a developer of digital and analog imaging technologies for closed circuit television systems; and IntelliCentrics, the provider of the Reptrax. Team members came from across the United States and around the world including Taipei, Taiwan; Shanghai, China; Manchester, England; and Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
On Monday and Tuesday, developers from all three companies met to find ways to improve current products as well as lay the road map for new products. Sales, marketing, customer service and business development learned how to build rapport with and empower our customers.
Wednesday was dedicated to team building exercises, informational sessions and visioning activities. The meeting culminated on Thursday with motivational events including a session with Jim Craig, the goalie from the 1980 USA gold medal men’s Olympic hockey team. He talked about what it takes to build a successful team.
You might be saying to yourself, “That’s great for you, but how does this help me?” It’s simple: a strong team equals a better business partner for you. In an article for Yahoo, Leadership Consultant John Hersey discusses team building. Three of the benefits he mentioned directly help you, our customer:

Goals and accomplishments are more often realized through a team effort. As a company, our brand promise directs us to be vigilant, trustworthy, forward thinking, sharp and helpful. We might have a hard time being all of these things for you as individuals, but as a team we can more easily fulfill these customer promises.
Problem solving becomes far more effective. Our goal is provide you with the tools and resources to simplify the world of regulatory compliance. What are the best tools? How can we serve you better? A strong team can solve these problems and provide you with the solutions you need to be more successful.
Within a well-built team, members are motivated and inspired to achieve goals and maintain high levels of productivity. Having goals is not the same as achieving goals. During the 2014 Global Meeting, we learned how to motivate and inspire each other to reach our shared vision.

As a team, we will hold each other accountable, embrace change, work to improve ourselves and make the sacrifices we need to make in order to reach our goal of serving you better.
